My name is Melanie Fernandez - born and raised Miami girl, fashion and design lover, foodie, and travel dreamer. What started as a retreat from my crazy lawyer world has turned into a dream and a growing reality. Planning a 400 person, 30 vendor, fabulous (and I am not biased, it was fabulous) wedding brought me a wealth of insurmountable knowlege with respect to this amazing industry, including the necessity of vendors, the importance of design, and the focus on details. House of Lilac was born from this concept - like any business, we kicked off locally in Miami, with a focus on cardstock and event design. 

However, the need for expansion came quick due to the demand for hand made and classic event details. The scaleable wedding market was outdated and finding the right items, whether hand made or not, was a process that took an entire day of searching and filtering. Wedding magazines and wedding blogs were also helpful but the major question was always the same: Where do I buy these items? From this pondering came House of Lilac, the website.
